The Half Moon Bay Horseshoe Club hosted the John Carver Open at Smith Field on Saturday to benefit the National Horseshoe Pitchers Foundation. San Jose participants dominated.
In Group A, Mike Anderson was first and Gary Nakamoto was second. Both are from San Jose. In Group B, Joe Navarro of San Jose was first, followed by Half Moon Bay’s Bill Terry.
In Group C, Evelyn Espinola, a cadet with the Seaside Club, was first, followed by San Jose’s Gary Greensmith. San Jose club member Jose Torres was first, followed by Daniel McEathron, in Group D.
The Bill Terry Tournament is set for Saturday at Smith Field, and the Foa Remillong Tournament will be played on Sunday.
