If practice makes perfect, then Smith Field is the home of champions. Half Moon Bay Little Leaguers have been practicing playing games all spring in this, 50th anniversary of the local baseball league. Kyle Ludowitz / Review

Trevor Coruccini dominated on the mound for Goetz Bros. as the Half Moon Bay Little League Juniors team beat Belmont Redwood Shores Gray, 8-1, on May 11.

Coruccini struck out 14. with one assist at home plate to Aidan Vazquez. During the third inning, Coruccini had nine pitches and three strikeouts. 

Offensively, Vazquez had two singles; Coruccini, Devin Costa, Tyler Schwartz and Isaac Hophan all had singles.

Mason Patton had a single and a double, plus three outstanding catches in the field for Jackson Robertson. Brayden Davis went 4-for-4 with four singles and two runs batted in.

Colton Brynes had two singles and a double, bringing in two runs. Salvador Morales and Owen Vaz both went 3-for-3 as well each with three singles, and a two-run RBI. Stella Vaz had two doubles with two runs batted in. Matias Nielsen, Charlie Esposto and Mely Acosta all singled. Jeremy Thorne singled twice, loading the bases in the third for Kai Weston to bring in two runs with an RBI double.

For Dr. Maahs, Charles Turner St. Charles led off the game with a double. Wyatt Reimche had a single and a double. Michael Demchak started off with an RBI, ending the game with a single and two doubles.

Brandon Jett was 3-for-3 with a single and two doubles, resulting in a total of five runs batted in. Sammy Demchak had an RBI followed by a double. Julian Juarez-Reyes singled twice. Stella Figone and Thomas Benson each singled. Jackson Revent, Collin McCaughey and Lucas Figone made excellent efforts at the plate.
