Scarecrows keep watch over a field long Highway 92. Kyle Ludowitz/Review

Editor’s note: They are meant to be scarecrows, but others had the same reaction.

Is anyone else uncomfortable with the hooded white crosses on Highway 92? I’m hoping whoever put them up there near the cemetery is oblivious to their racist resemblance.

It’s not a great look for visitors entering town. I don’t know where to go with this so I thought I would start here.

uffish thought

Most people actually *would* be "oblivious" because these things are just... drum roll... scarecrows.

The farmer protects his crops with whatever's cheap and on hand and isn't going to worry whether a couple of silly suburban commuters obsessing over self-inflicted Rorschach tests decide it looks like the infamous Senator Robert Byrd.

Why not "start" putting your letter writing efforts toward something useful instead? IOW, MYOB, OK?
