Updated 4:15 p.m.: A portion of the roadway on Bean Hollow Road in Pescadero is closed to traffic after a semi truck overturned and fell down an embankment.
At about 2:45 p.m. the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office sent out an SMC Alert stating Bean Hollow Road between Pescadero Creek Road and Artichoke Road is closed until the truck is up righted and removed.
California Highway Patrol estimates the roadway will reopen in about 90 minutes.
The call for service came in at about 1 p.m. after the truck fell down an embankment and landed in a bed of poison oak, according to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Art Montiel.
A Watsonsville man was driving the truck southbound on Bean Hollow Road when he lost control of his power steering. The man jumped from the truck before it fell down the embankment. No injuries were reported.
"Two tow trucks were requested to lift the truck out," Montiel said.
San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, California Highway Patrol and the Coastside Fire Protection District were the responding agencies.
