Pizza for everyone!

Via Uno Cucina Italiana & Bar in Half Moon Bay hosted students from Wilkinson School on Thursday for a pizza-making cultural field trip. The fifth- and sixth-grade students in Julie Hockridge's class were invited to visit the local restaurant to learn more about Italy’s food culture. Students were told the history of pizza, from its Mediterranean flat bread origins to the authentic Neapolitan pizza the world knows today. Students then had the opportunity to make their own pizzas by stretching the dough and adding toppings of their choice. Restaurant co-owner Massimo Sarubbi explained the history, and pizza chef Byron Hernandez was on hand to help the students.
