A portion of Skyline Boulevard near Reids Roost Road was closed in both directions for several hours on Tuesday as police investigated a homicide.

At approximately 11:35 p.m. on June 17, a San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy driving on Skyline Boulevard observed the body of a man reportedly laying on the west shoulder of the road near the El Corte de Madera Creek Preserve.

Based on the man’s injuries, law enforcement believed it to be a homicide.

The Sheriff’s Office, the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office and the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office all sent officials to the scene to investigate.

Detectives conducted a search in the remote area with assistance from K-9 units, the SWAT team and the California Highway Patrol. Nearby residents were asked to shelter in place during the search; the advisory was lifted at about 12 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. No arrests have been made and the investigation is still ongoing.
