The San Mateo County Harbor District will revisit a fee schedule for fish sales at Pillar Point Harbor amid concerns that the local surcharges are out of line compared to other neighboring ports.

Fish-buying fees have been in place for years, but some at the harbor say it was not consistently collected in the past. In recent months, fishing-company owners raised concerns that an updated fee schedule in their leases, renewed in March, was too high. District officials report that the revenues are needed to make repairs to the Johnson Pier and other facilities.
