Voters approve La Honda Road district transfer
San Mateo County voters have approved the transfer of several parcels located on La Honda Road from the La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District to the Portola Valley School District and the Sequoia Union High School District. The special election was held on May 7 and the results were official on May 21.
The ballot measure passed with 100 percent voter approval by a total of 16 voters. According to the measure, the La Honda Road territory consists of 10 houses and 23 undeveloped parcels of land.
Starting on July 1, 2020, residents of that territory will be considered part of the Portola Valley School District and the Sequoia Union High School District. Landowners within the region will also be subject to those district’s parcel taxes.
