San Mateo County plans a free recycling and disposal event for household hazardous waste. The opportunity comes from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on June 29 in Half Moon Bay.
County residents may bring up to 10 gallons or 50 pounds of material that is toxic, flammable or otherwise dangerous. Paint thinner, rat poison and toilet bowl cleaner are examples of things that can’t just be thrown in the landfill.
