In an effort to stay current and bring more people to the San Mateo County Fair, organizers have announced some new features for the event, which opens a nine-day run on June 8 in San Mateo.
“Our goal is to bring exciting new features to the fair each year while maintaining fair traditions,” said Dana Stoehr, chief executive officer for the San Mateo County Event Center and fair in a prepared release. Among the new offerings:
Selfie Museum: Shutterbugs are encouraged to pull out their cellphones and get shots in front of six life-size backdrops. Then use the hashtag #SMCF2019 to be seen.
Silent Disco: Guests will be issued wireless headphones they can tune to different genres of music for their own personal party.
Pride Day: In conjunction with the San Mateo County Pride Center, June 10 will be dedicated to the LGBTQIA community. Events include a resource fair with partnering organizations.
