A 13-year-old cat named for a deceased science fiction writer has finally found a home after nearly three years at the Peninsula Humane Society. The no-kill shelter rarely keeps animals so long.
“We are so delighted Asimov has been adopted after such a long time waiting at our shelter,” said PHS/SPCA’s Communications Manager Buffy Martin Tarbox.
The orange tabby became something of a celebrity after her owner gave her up because she herself lost housing. The popular animal blog “The Dodo” wrote about the cat, and Robin Asimov, daughter of beloved science-fiction author Isaac Asimov, pledged her help in finding a new home for the cat.
The adopted cat moved into her new digs in Hillsborough over the weekend.
