The Half Moon Bay Shakespeare Company announces that it will stage the Bard’s drama “Hamlet” as its planned 2013 production. Auditions are planned to fill the cast.

Having debuted with “The Taming of the Shrew” last year, the local Shakespeare company plans auditions for “Hamlet” on June 1 and 2. All roles are open, said company Artistic Director Robert Pickett.

Those interested in auditioning should send a headshot and a resume in advance to the Half Moon Bay Shakespeare Company at P.O. Box 112, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019. Headshots and resumes can also be emailed to halfmoonbayshakes@gmail.com.

The production is non-Actors Equity Association, or non-union, with some pay. Rehearsals begin July 27, and performances are scheduled for Aug. 30 and 31, and Sept. 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15 in Half Moon Bay.

Former company members are invited to let the company know if they are interested and schedule an audition time with the company.
