A return to Half Moon Bay
Danny Garcia was on a walk of faith from San Francisco to Mexico on a stormy night in 1996, seeking to promote child advocacy, love and unity. He stopped in Half Moon Bay for respite. He says he was soaking wet when he arrived at the Half Moon Bay Inn on Main Street with $48 dollars in his pocket. He remembers being given a free room for the night. On Monday, 22 years later, Danny returned to pay homage to the town that took him in and welcomed him.He said he plans to present a gift to the City Council tonight before continuing his journey on a route similar to his original southern journey. Hoping to meet with veterans groups, law enforcement and first responders along the way, Garcia plans to arrive at the US/Mexico border in San Diego on Friday.Kyle Ludowitz / Review
