The article on the Miramar sign in the May 23 Review made me nuts! Caltrans is coming up with some old regulation and says the sign must be taken down. This beautiful wood sign has been a mainstay on the coast for two to three decades.

Now, isn’t this the same Caltrans that, when painting the arrows on Highway 1 in Moss Beach and Montara, painted two arrows? One indicated to turn right into Montara, the other pointed left — over the cliff and into the Pacific Ocean?

What an entity, this Caltrans. Aren’t we so happy it is looking out for us here on the coast? Charlie Brown said it best: We are doomed.
