April 2, 1954 - May 23, 2012

Richard passed away peacefully with his family at his side on May 23, 2012. He was a Bay Area native, born in San Francisco, raised in Daly City and lived in Half Moon Bay until last year when the lure of children and grandchildren prompted a move to Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Richard graduated from San Jose State University in 1976 and Golden Gate Law School in 1979. He pursued a career in the banking and financial industry, working for Wells Fargo, Citibank, ING, World Savings, and, until his retirement three years ago, Patelco.

In 1976 he married Janet Bennett, his Westmoor High School sweetheart, and they embarked on a long, loving and eventful marriage — through law school, four daughters, a host of unforgettable pets, career moves to Minnesota and Virginia, grandchildren, and sadly, health issues that colored the last few years.

Richard was a quintessential family man: He enjoyed having his loved ones around him, laughing, arguing politics, telling stories and sharing a meal. He is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Mary Adams, his grandparents, Cesare and Rosi Santini, and Fred and Irene Adams, and many Santini and Adams aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Adams, daughters Caitlin (Chris) Croft, Alexandra (Jason) Borgen, Ariana (Sean) Reamann, and Tessa Adams, by grandchildren Richard and Audrey Croft, and Trinity Reamann, by sister Kathleen (David) Ritch, by uncle Guido (Loretta) Santini, and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, both related and honorary, and by Charlene Ozawa and many other friends who became family. All were drawn to his good heart, big smile and wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Our Lady of the Pillar Church, 400 Church St., Half Moon Bay. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Diabetes Association.
