Rebecca Anne Gibbons passed away suddenly at her home in Yreka on Aug. 8, 2012. She was 40 years old.

Rebecca was born May 25, 1972, in Binghamton, N.Y., to John and Charlotte Gibbons. She is survived by her loving family members, including her son, Taylor Campbell Gibbons, of Antioch, devoted life partner Robin G. Byrd of Yreka, parents John Earl and Charlotte Campbell Gibbons, of Antioch, sister Melinda Gibbons Vahedi and her husband, Vahid, of Oakland, a brother, John Wesley Gibbons, her uncle, John Campbell, of Los Angeles, her Yreka parents, Brenda and Dan Byrd, and many cousins in New York and Arizona. She will be greatly missed by her adoring pets, Baxter, Binx and Wicket.

She loved deeply and fiercely.

Private services are planned in Yreka with a Celebration of Life to be held in the Bay Area at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to a memorial fund for Rebecca’s son, Taylor. Contributions can be sent to Bank of the West, Montclair Branch, 2023 Mountain Blvd., Oakland, CA 94611. Please make checks payable to “Rebecca Anne Gibbons Memorial Fund for Taylor,” Reference Account No. 028285742.

Online condolences may be made at Girdner Funeral Chapel in Yreka is handling the arrangements.
