On Nov 18, 2012, George Kenneth Giovannoni, 64, of Half Moon Bay, died at home. His loving wife, Carolyn, was at his side.

George was born in Half Moon Bay, Calif., on Jan. 7, 1948. At the age of 20, he left Half Moon Bay to serve in the Navy. He became a Navy SEAL and earned a purple heart in the Vietnam War for his bravery.

He had a successful career as equipment manager for Wagner Construction and part owner of Half Moon Bay Grading and Paving. Ken was involved with the IDES Hall in Half Moon Bay. helping with the Chamarita festivals. He enjoyed his grandchildren, old cars and ski boats.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, daughter Michelle, three grandchildren Vincenzo, Gianna and Milan, his father, George, and stepmother Audrey. He is also survived by brother, Gary and wife Cindy, nephews John and Gary Jr., stepbrother Gerry and stepsisters Kim and Kelly.

Please join a celebration of Ken’s life at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Miller-Dutra Coastside Chapel in Half Moon Bay.
