Sheriff’s deputies at a convenience store found a drunken man who was reportedly driving recklessly. He was arrested for public intoxication.

Someone stole various tools out of a truck.

A transient was helping a woman jumpstart her vehicle in front of a closed business at a late hour. Sheriff’s deputies noticed a bundled glove under the hood of the car. A quick search revealed the glove contained methadone pills. The man, identified as Robert Castle, was arrested and taken to jail.
9:37 p.m., Aug. 3, Surfer’s Beach
A 45-year-old man was sleeping in his car with the engine left running and the headlights on. Sheriff’s deputies woke up the man and suspected he was drunk. He failed sobriety tests and was taken to jail.
2:43 a.m., Aug. 4, Main Street
A 33-year-old woman hanging out at a bar couldn’t remember her address or how she would get home. She was arrested because she was too drunk to care for herself.
2:09 a.m., Aug. 5, Capistrano Road
A drunken man was seen stumbling while walking out of a bar. The man was stopped and arrested after driving away in his car.

Someone made several fraudulent charges on a stolen credit card.
4:26 p.m., Aug. 2, Main Street
Someone stole about $2,600 in tools from an unlocked work van.
9:45 a.m., Aug. 4, Poplar Street
Someone threw a rock at a convertible, smashing the car’s rear window and causing about $2,000 in damage.
12:01 a.m., Aug. 4, La Honda Road
An 18-year-old was apparently driving while drunk and caused a roll-over crash. The man was arrested and taken to jail.
4:16 p.m., Aug. 5, Highway 1
Someone smashed a car window to steal a purse containing more than $300 in cash and other valuables.
3:15 p.m., Aug. 2, Oleander Way
Two teenage boys on probation and ordered to stay away from each other were seen loitering by Sheriff’s deputies. The two teens were searched, revealing lighters, a bag with marijuana residue and a container with prescription painkillers and other unknown pills. Both boys were arrested for violating their parole conditions and taken to the Youth Services Center.
12:01 a.m., Aug. 3, Miramontes Point Road
At least two rival gang members began fighting in the Moonridge neighborhood. One of the suspected brawlers, a 15-year-old, was caught at a nearby home wearing red clothing. The young man tried to resist arrest, but he was detained and taken to the Youth Services Center.
