Next month El Granada resident Brian Overfelt expects to take over management at the Old Princeton Landing, the well-known bar on Capistrano Road near Pillar Point Harbor. The 38-year-old surfer, rock musician and former bartender says he plans to renovate the bar into a more inviting venue for shows, televised sports or a beer.

“I want to make this place nice enough for my mom or anybody else’s folks,” Overfelt said excitedly. “And I’m going to run the place how I want!”

Old Princeton Landing, or “OPL,” has long been a popular local hangout.

Overfelt said many details of the deal are still being worked out, but he expects to re-open Old Princeton Landing in early August.
