The Coastside County Water District Board of Directors has appointed a new member to fill the vacancy left by Jerry Donovan, who resigned last month.

Bob Feldman was sworn in by board President Chris Mickelsen during a special meeting on July 18. This will be Feldman’s second stretch on the board; his last term ended in 2011. The selection was based on each board member’s top pick of five applicants. Feldman was the top choice of three of the four sitting board members.

“Given Bob Feldman’s history with the board and his understanding of the system, he was the best choice,” Mickelsen said.

Feldman said he will not be running for re-election in 2013, when his appointed term ends. He said that he applied as a candidate to complete Donovan’s term on the board in the hope of maintaining its current momentum.

“I wanted to hit the road running,” he said.
