A third small earthquake within a 24-hour period hit the Coastside late Tuesday night.

The epicenter of the 2.8 quake was located three miles north of Moss Beach and two miles northwest of Montara. There were no immediate reports of damage.

A 2.5 earthquake, two miles southeast of Pacifica, was registered at 10:25 p.m., Monday. The second earthquake, a with a 1.5 reading on the Richter scale and located three miles northeast of Half Moon Bay, struck at 12:56 p.m., Tuesday. The latest quake struck at 10:13 p.m.
