The Half Moon Bay High School concert band and wind ensemble will perform in concert at 7 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, May 30, in the school’s multiuse room.

The school did well at the Heritage Band Festival in Anaheim, May 19-20, attended by the wind ensemble, jazz band and chorale. The jazz band and wind ensemble won the overall sweepstakes in instrumental music, the chorale received a high silver award and the ensemble took first place in the band division. Also, music teacher John Evans was lauded, and seniors Elijah Diaz and Becky Beardsley received awards as solo instrumentalists, on tuba and trumpet respectively.

For information on the concert, call 712-7200.

Welcome to the discussion.
