Local students make honor rolls

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, Jul 28, 2010 - 11:57:41 am PDT

Richard A. Hollon of Half Moon Bay has been named to the Scholastic Honor Roll for the spring term at Oregon State University.

Hollon is a senior, majoring in civil engineering.

To make the honor roll, students must carry at least 12 graded hours of course work.

Four young Half Moon Bay women have been selected for the dean’s honors list of the University of California, Santa Barbara.

They are Rebecca Rose Gorn, majoring in pre-political science and environmental studies; Kaitlin Mary Secrest, majoring in communication; Anna Christine Susa, majoring in chemistry and Lauren Nicole Virgen, majoring in pre-business and economics.

The honor is earned by students who have attained the qualifying grade point average of 3.75 (the equivalent of an A-minus) in the college of letters and science, or 3.50 in the college of engineering.
