He realized that Thursday night would not be the right time to speak his mind.

“This one hurts,” Gammon said as he stood stoically in the South San Francisco gym.
Everything came down to the final match, the 160-pound bout between Half Moon Bay’s Colin Williams and South San Francisco’s Ramzy Azar. Williams took a 6-1 lead early in the second round.
But Williams was called for stalling three times and an illegal hold, reducing his lead to a point.
Azar found a second wind, took the lead in the third round and held on for a 9-8 win, sending the Warriors into delirium and the Cougars into a depression.
“This sucks because this is my senior year,” said Bryce Mcgaw, Half Moon Bay’s 189-pound wrestler.
Mcgaw earned a 4-2 decision early in the match. Had he won by a technical fall or pin, Half Moon Bay would have won the match.
“I wonder what I could have done differently in my match,” Mcgaw said.
Meanwhile, Gammon figured that the less said right after the match Thursday, the better. He planned to talk to the team about the match prior to Friday’s practice.
“Everyone is upset now,” Gammon said. “There’s no point in talking right now. No one would listen to me.”
The Cougars picked up pins from Jeff Berner, Victor Rivera, John Claytor, Anthony Rivera and Brian Martinez.
“The kids will now have to get ready for Terra Nova,” Gammon said. “Hopefully, we can come back and win the PAL Tournament.”
