Milestone birthday celebrated

Published/Last Modified on Tuesday, Dec 22, 2009 - 03:21:52 pm PST

Happy 90th birthday, “Grandpop.” Richard Martin Gross was born Thanksgiving Day, 1919, in Trenton, N.J. A birthday celebration at Café Gibraltar was enjoyed by family and friends both near and far. For most of the Coastsiders, “Grandpop” has played an active role in your and your children’s lives for many years. If you’ve a moment, catch up with him. At 90, we can all feel blessed as Richard enjoys reminiscing about his life. Thank you for  bringing joy into his life and celebrating with us on his Special Day.

Coastside Angels

The privately funded organization administered by Executive Director Susan Donahue is not-for-profit and exists to help Coastsiders in need. The organization fulfills one-time, quality-of-life requests from Coastside residents. Typical requests include household appliances, educational tools, shoes, clothing, medication, overdue utility bills, car repairs, hearing aids, eyeglasses, etc. The organization receives requests directly and also through other Coastside agencies. The Half Moon Bay Review, which is not affiliated with the program, plans to print updates on the program and features on grant recipients on the last Wednesday of every month.
