Using mobile recording technology Mark Johnson, joined by fellow director Jonathan Walls, traveled the globe with the idea of recording music to inspire and connect humanity.
They began with a street musician in Santa Monica, visited such distant locales as Native American reservations, African villages and Himalayan peaks, recording luminaries including Keb’ Mo’, Bono and Jackson Browne, and participated in a concert hosted by the Los Angeles Knitting Factory in which the musicians met and performed together for the first time.

This film is the first of the Playing for Change program’s efforts to promote world peace.
It will be shown at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the event co-host, the Community United Methodist Church at 777 Miramontes St. in Half Moon Bay. The event is free but donations to cover expenses are welcomed. Babysitting for the evening is provided at $5 per child, with a 24-hour advance reservation.
