Assessment appeals are generally filed by the property owner when the homeowner disagrees with the valuation set by the assessor. “While we’re not looking to increase the number of appeals filed, we do want property owners in San Mateo County to know that their deadline to file an appeal for 2009 is just a week away,” explained Warren Slocum, Chief Elections Officer & Assessor — County Clerk — Recorder in a release.
