11:12 p.m., Nov. 16, Sonora Avenue

A disheveled, half-naked woman was knocking on doors of random homes. Residents watching the woman said she was acting very strangely. She drove off in a car toward Highway 1. Deputies began tailing the woman and watched as she nearly sideswiped a parked car. “I am real drunk,” the woman told San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies. She said she was at her boyfriend’s house and was drinking with him and then got into a verbal argument and left. She refused to give the boyfriend’s name or address and was arrested.

10:48 p.m. Nov. 18, Carmel Avenue

A vehicle-code violation prompted deputies to pull over a driver, who was on parole. Deputies reported they could smell alcohol on the driver. The driver claimed he had only one-and-a-half beers. Then he admitted he actually had two. Finally he said it was really four beers. He failed sobriety tests and was taken to county jail.

11:54 p.m., Nov. 20, Central Avenue

The district attorney’s office will review a case in which two family members assaulted each other.

Burglary

3:47 a.m., Nov. 21, Grandview Boulevard

A man woke up in the middle of the night from the sounds of someone rifling through his vehicle, which was parked outside. The victim says he looked out his window and saw a young man inside his car and another in a green Toyota Prius acting as lookout . The two men quickly left the scene when they spotted the car owner peeking through the window. The burglar stole nothing but a bag of cabinet pieces.

11:30 a.m., Nov. 22, Chesterfield Avenue

Somebody broke the lock on a truck trailer and stole several tools.

Disturbance

Nov. 17, Highway 1

A disturbance was reported between a business manager and a prospective employee who was angry after being interviewed for a position and not hired.

4:40 p.m., Nov. 20, Highway 1

A suspicious woman walked into a store and began putting various items into bags but then left the store without taking anything. Store employees suspect the woman intended to steal the items but then aborted that plan at the last moment.

11:19 p.m., Nov. 19, Spindrift Way

A 20-year-old unlicensed Half Moon Bay driver failed sobriety tests after police officers pulled him over for speeding.

Fraud

Nov. 18, Seascape Drive

A woman reported someone who was trying to scam her by saying she had won a lot of money.

9:23 a.m., Nov. 20, Terrace Avenue

A woman claiming to be from the Federal Trade Commission was calling up Coastside residents saying they won $350,000 in the lottery and only needed to pay $3,500 in taxes to claim it.

Hit and run

8:39 p.m., Nov. 18, Main Street

An unknown driver hit a parked car and left without leaving any contact information.

Theft

8:30 a.m., Nov. 17, Colonel Way

A car owner reported a stolen car, but later called off the police after learning a relative had simply moved the car down the road.

Threats

12:05 a.m., Nov. 20, Correas Street

A woman reported her son was being harassed and threatened by the ex-girlfriend of her ex-husband. The suspect was reportedly calling up the woman’s son and warning him not to testify against her in an upcoming court hearing. The case has been forwarded to the district attorney’s office.

9:26 p.m., Nov. 10, Virginia Avenue

A driver was pulled over for having a headlight out and admitted to Sheriff’s deputies that he drank three beers earlier. He failed sobriety tests and was arrested.

Pescadero

Trespassing

9:13 p.m., Nov. 13, Highway 1

A drunken homeless man visiting his family started insulting and arguing with his dad and grandmother. His father called for Sheriff’s deputies after telling his son he was no longer welcome. His son refused to leave the house even when deputies arrived and ordered him to depart. He was arrested for trespassing and obstructing officers.

12 p.m., Nov. 13, Pillar Point Harbor

The Harbormaster’s Office reported a man who was driving recklessly through the harbor. The man said he was trying to find a bank bag that he had lost.

Unincorporated San Mateo County

DUI

4:09 a.m., Nov. 14, Highway 92

A man was found sleeping in a car pulled over on the side of the highway. The man told Sheriff’s deputies that he was out of gas and waiting for a ride. Deputies smelled alcohol on his breath and asked him for his license. Instead, he gave them his American Express card. The man was arrested and taken to jail.

Vandalism

10:05 a.m., Nov. 16, Miramontes Point Road

A playground at the Moonridge housing complex was damaged when someone started throwing rocks over a fence. One of the rocks broke a window to a toy storage shed. Nothing else was damaged.
