Herbert Suvaco, a resident of Half Moon Bay for 28 years, passed away unexpectedly at home in his sleep. He had been suffering with very painful, gouty arthritis on his legs and body.

He retired as Secretary Treasurer of Teamsters Local 860 in San Francisco. He worked his way from business agent to the top position. Mr. Suvaco was raised in Honolulu until he came to the mainland in the 1940s. He loved to cook and barbecue, he loved gardening and traveling, and he enjoyed his grandchildren.

He will be missed by his wife of 40 years, Marta, sons, Herbert Jr. and Steve, and daughters, Gloria, Debra, Marti and Diane. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 29, at Chapel of the Highlands, 194 Millwood Drive in Millbrae, Calif. Viewing will be from 1 p.m. and rosary will be at 4 p.m.
