Television calls on Coastsider

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, Nov 25, 2009 - 10:42:58 am PST

When El Granada resident and author Gail Bernice Holland recently found herself face to face with a producer from the KGO-TV show “The View From the Bay,” she dropped the name of her latest book — and the producer picked it up.

He asked her for 10 “talking points” about the book, and when she sent them, he asked her to be on the show.

So Holland, known locally for her informative books about Alzheimer’s disease and “A Call for Connection” about positive developments in society, will continue her upbeat trend by talking about her new book, “Love Each Day: Live Each Day So You Would Want to Live it Again” on the show’s regular 3 p.m. slot Wednesday, Dec. 16, on Channel 7.

Her spot will be brief. “I’ll probably have five minutes of fame,” she laughed.

“I think it’s the timing of the performance, in December,” she said. “People are looking for positive gifts.”
