The investment question “What Can We Say Now About 2010?” will be addressed at the upcoming meeting of the Half Moon Bay branch of the American Association of University Women. The public is welcome.

The meeting, set for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, in the social hall of the Community United Methodist Church, will begin with a presentation from AAUW Legal Advocacy Chair Jane Kingston, who will give an overview of the legal arm of the AAUW. Founded in 1981, it works to end sex discrimination in the workplace and in higher education.

It will be followed by the keynote presentation by Woodside resident Ken Fisher, founder, chairman and CEO of Fisher Investments, a money management firm serving large pension plans, endowments, foundations and individuals across the United States and in the United Kingdom, Canada and Germany.

Fisher is best known for more than 25 years as a Forbes Portfolio Strategy columnist. He has also written six books, “Super Stocks” (1984,) “The Wall Street Waltz” (1987,) “100 Minds that Made the Market” (1993,) “The Only Three Questions that Count” (2006,) “The Ten Roads to Riches” (2008) and “How to Smell a Rat” (2009,) the last three of which made the New York Times best-seller list. His books have been translated into nine languages.

He has been written about in most major American, British, Canadian, German or Swiss finance or business periodicals. Ranked No. 289 on the 2009 Forbes 400 list of richest Americans, he has made Investment Advisor magazine’s prestigious 1A-25 list of the industry's most influential people.

He is interested in the history of Kings Mountain and its 19th-century logging past, and he has located, excavated, cataloged and written extensively about redwood lumber mills. He also endowed the world's only academic chair devoted to a single tree species, the California coastal redwood.

The Methodist church is located at 777 Miramontes St. in Half Moon Bay. Finger foods and beverages will be provided.
