Winning by just 10 votes, Leonard Woren has retained his director seat on the Granada Sanitary District, beating challenger Lisa McCaffrey.

Election tallies posted by the San Mateo County Elections Office show Woren winning with 577 votes, compared with 567 votes for McCaffrey.

The two candidates have been locked in a tight race for the third remaining seat on the sewer board. Elections results posted on Nov. 3 showed only a one-vote difference between the two candidates, meaning the race had to be determined from the uncounted mail-in, provisional and paper ballots.

Time to help Scouts collect food

Starting Saturday, Coastsiders should be on the lookout for a placard hanging on their doors with food collection information. It’s a calling card from local Boy Scout troops, who are involved in the annual Scouting for Food drive.
