The exhibit, “Painting with Film,” will feature Mehler’s semi-abstract color and black-and-white photography from an architectural point of view. The works focus on amusement parks across the country and around the world, and were shot in 2007 and 2009.
Mehler will exhibit and sell both greeting cards and small to larger prints, ranging from $50 to $500.

He will also show and sell the works, as well as sea-glass jewelry made by his stepdaughter Katie Carrin, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 28 and 29 and Dec. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20 at the Sawtooth Building at 2547 8th St., No. 30 A, (Bay 3) in Berkeley.

Buster Keaton shines in films
The next Coastside Film Society Film Night will take a lighthearted turn by presenting three comic silent-film masterpieces from Buster Keaton, at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, in the sanctuary of the Community United Methodist Church.
The evening will include three of Keaton’s greatest silent films from the 1920s.
The 21-minute “The High Sign” (1921) features Keaton as both bodyguard and hired assassin for the same man, and is rife with rich physical comedy. The 19-minute “One Week” (1920) show a newlywed Keaton and his wife attempting to build, furnish, and settle into a build-it-yourself dream home — unaware that they have the wrong building instructions. Finally, the 20-minute “Go West” (1925) is silent-era love story, which just might be a sly joke about the era’s wide-eyed leading ladies.
All three films feature original music by Grammy-winning guitarist Bill Frisell.
