Donald Barmore

Passed peacefully at home on the morning of Oct. 13, 2009, with his loving wife of 30 years, Annie Barmore, at his side. He was born in Pocatello, Idaho, on May 28, 1930, the eldest son of Daisy and William Barmore.

He is survived by his wife, two brothers, Gary (Pat) and Robert (Sue) Barmore, a sister, Phyllis Whaley, three sons, Phil (Margee), Warren (Betty) and Cyril Scott Barmore, and eight grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren, Madison, Brandon, Grayson, Emily, Hailey and Kendall Barmore. Having lived for most of his life in the Central Valley and Bay Area of California, Donald enjoyed the last six years as a resident of Green Valley, Arizona.

His life accomplishments include an undergraduate degree in mathematics from San Jose State University in 1961, six years of honored service in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and a distinguished career of 30 years as a systems engineer with the IBM Corporation.

Don will be fondly remembered for his irreverent sense of humor, an unwavering commitment to his family and an infectious love of animals, nature and the great outdoors. He will be profoundly missed.

His family requests, in lieu of flowers, tax-deductible donations to Carondelet Hospice and Palliative Care, 630 N. Alvernon Way, Suite 361, Tucson, AZ 85711.

A memorial celebration of Don's life will be held at 2 p.m. on November 7, 2009 at Mariners Community Church located at 225 S. Cabrillo Hwy, Suite 101C, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019.
