7:35 p.m., Oct. 9, Avenue Portola

A man and woman were arguing loudly in a dirt lot. The man was found to have two warrants out for his arrest from Fresno and Ventura counties. He was arrested.

11:10 p.m., Oct. 18, Arnold Way

A husband was arrested after reportedly becoming aggressive during an argument with his wife.

Disturbance

8:10 a.m., Oct. 14, Kelly Avenue

A woman was driving her car while on medication and using her vehicle to block a man from leaving gas pumps at the “More for Less” gas station. Police advised the woman not to drive while under the influence.

10:59 a.m., Oct. 15, Highway 1

A victim in a parking-lot accident discovered the phone number and insurance information given by the other driver were bogus.

3:49 p.m., Oct. 18, Grove Street

A 2-year-old toddler nearly was hit by an officer’s patrol car while he was running to chase a ball. The officer questioned the mother, who was inside, about leaving her young son unattended outside. The mother said she thought her sister-in-law was watching the child.

11:03 a.m., Oct. 14, Lewis Foster Drive

A 16-year-old Half Moon Bay High School student was arrested for possessing marijuana.

3:54 a.m., Oct. 18, Miramontes Avenue

A 17-year-old driver was caught behind the wheel while drunk and under the influence of marijuana.

DUI

1:34 a.m., Oct. 17, Highway 1

A 19-year-old driver from Pescadero was blasting his music loud enough to draw police attention. The driver was pulled over and was determined to be drunk. He was arrested and taken to First Chance.

2 a.m., Oct. 17, Wavecrest Road

A driver nearly collided with a police car stopped along the side of the highway. Police found that the male driver was drunk. He was arrested and taken to the hospital.

Fraud

10:35 a.m., Oct. 15, Bloom Lane

A woman attempted to cash a $4,850 check she received in the mail. Her bank advised her that the check was fake and part of a scam.

License violation

2:35 p.m., Oct. 17, Main Street

A vendor from Oakland at the Art & Pumpkin Festival was selling items without a permit. Police cited the 33-year-old man after already warning him to stop.

Missing person

10 a.m., Oct. 17, Alsace Lorraine

A 14-year-old ran away from home after being grounded by his mother.

Nuisance

5 p.m., Oct. 16, Potter Avenue

A homeowner embroiled in a dispute with his neighbor decided to plant a dead rat on a stake along the property line between their homes. His neighbor called the police, who asked to man to take down the rat, which he refused to do. Officers determined the rat was a public health hazard and decided to forward the case to the district attorney.

Theft

10:08 a.m., Oct. 16, Highway 1

A recent auto buyer moved out of the state, neglecting to pay the final $1,400 she owed for her car.

Threat

Oct. 16, Kelly Avenue

A 43-year-old transient was yelling and threatening people while he was drunk. He was arrested on public intoxication charges and later released.

Vandalism

8:40 a.m., Oct. 14, Wavecrest Road

The bleachers at the Smith Field baseball diamond were damaged by a vehicle.

Vicious dog

9:23 a.m., Oct. 14, Grandview Avenue

Two aggressive stray dogs attacked a pet dog. Officers could not locate the owner of the stray dogs so they called for the Peninsula Humane Society to handle them.

Burglary

7 a.m., Oct. 8, Cortez Avenue

Somebody pried open the front door to break into a home and steal multiple items totaling more than $5,000 in value. The burglar also stole the victim’s car from the garage. A neighbor spotted the burglar driving off with the vehicle and described her as a blonde woman with blue eyes, aged 25 to 35.

3:46 a.m., Oct. 11, George Street

A known local alcoholic was found lying in a puddle of his own urine in the middle of the road. The man was could not walk, had very slurred speech and admitted to being drunk. Sheriff’s deputies arrested the man for his own protection.

Princeton

Burglary

4 p.m., Oct. 11, Culebra Street

Someone entered a locked home and broke open a gun case to steal firearms, jewelry and electronics. The burglar managed to lock two pet dogs that were home at the time in a bedroom.
