| Sea Crest visitors arrested for stealing wallets By Mark Noack [ mark@hmbreview.com ] Published/Last Modified on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 11:24 AM PDT Two women were touring Sea Crest School on Monday afternoon, ostensibly to enroll their children as students, but they were actually using the opportunity to snoop around the campus and steal wallets, according to police officials. The two women, identified as 25-year-old Marla Daniels of Richmond and 27-year-old Tiffany Amos of Marysville, were later caught driving south into Santa Cruz County with the money believed to be stolen from the wallets of school staff members.
Police officials say staff members at Sea Crest became suspicious as one of the female suspects was wandering through classrooms. School officials took note of the women’s vehicle and passed that information on to police after it was discovered that two wallets had been stolen. Sheriff’s deputies located the women driving south through San Gregorio and they stopped the women in a coordinated effort with Santa Cruz police. The women reportedly tossed the wallets out of their car, keeping the money, which they stuffed into their bras. When they were apprehended, both women admitted to stealing the wallets, according to police. Both women have criminal histories and are wanted on warrants issued by law enforcement officials in Nevada for stolen property crimes. Amos and Daniels were both arrested on Monday for conspiracy and burglary charges.
