Families, friends and members of the Half Moon Bay High School Class of 2011 have not forgotten the late Seth Koller of Half Moon Bay, who was due to graduate with them.

In memory of Seth, who died due to a traffic mishap in May, his mother Mary Sanders and the Class of 2011 have created the Seth Koller Creativity Scholarship, which they say will go to a young person  who is active in the fine or performing arts. And with the assistance and sponsorship of the Seventh Street Café in Montara, they are presenting “Eventide,” a concert featuring bands playing different kinds of music, Friday evening.

The event will take place from 9 until at least 11:30 p.m. at the café, located at 171 Seventh St. in Montara. As a hive of youth-oriented activities like hip-hop nights, concerts with local bands or a singles night that organizers say they want to foster at the café, the Seventh Street Café is ideal for the event.

“We figure there’s no better cause to donate to,” said high school junior and co-organizer Jenna Lemberg.

The evening will feature performances by a portion of the high school jazz ensemble, San Francisco Taiko Dojo which incorporates Japanese drumming and ancient Oriental philosophies, and the bands Sub-Atomic which plays rock and originals and Vent, which plays progressive and alternative  rock originals and some covers.

Koller forged the link between them all.

“He was a close friend of all of us,” said Vent guitarist Connor Burke.

Tickets are $10 per person at the door. For information, contact the café at  728-7966.
