Born November 27, 1952

Passed September 12, 2009

Kathi Ginsberg’s’ “Life Celebration” took place on September 26, 2009. Chuck Ginsberg, husband of Kathi expresses his gratitude to all who attended and those with us in thoughts, prayers and spirit.  The outpouring of support, prayers, calls and cards reaffirmed his sense of appreciation for all and an appreciation for community. Chuck was also struck by the beauty he felt, as Kathi’s “Live Celebration” unfolded into reunion with family, loved ones, friends and harbor community who otherwise might not have gathered, perhaps for years if ever.  Memories, laughter and joining together were a great comfort to Chuck.

A special thank you to those who made Kathi’s Day dear!  Msgr. Robert McElroy and Marguerite of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church of San Mateo.  Bob & Sherry Ingles, owners of Half Moon Bay Sport and Fishing.  Bob, captained the “Queen of Hearts” with Heather on deck.  Thank you!

Thanks to Capt. Bill Smitty, vessel, “Riptide,” Capt. Yogi, vessel, “New Gray” and their crews who were at the ready to include all.  Capt. Doug, in honor of Kathi, took his vessel, “Dickeybird”, and joined the memorial at sea with other harbor friends aboard, as is the way during a loss of one of their own.

Ruby of Samaritan House of San Mateo, of hearing of Kathi’s passing immediately went into, “What do you need?”, gifting and extending all she had to share.  Ruby was a beacon of love with great warmth as she extended condolences to Chuck.

Chuck wishes to share that he could not see clearly the gift of how much Kathi helped him daily and how much their many nights of musing and storytelling  about what they would do if their circumstances were better.  Kathi often told Chuck she thought she would go first and wanted Chuck to complete the things they dreamed and knew he was capable of.  Chuck expressed to be mindful of your loved one daily, as the gifts of your union become crystal clear upon their passing.

Chuck has realized he and Kathi actually lived their marriage vows, and in many ways went beyond their vows in their special union.

Chuck wanted to thank you all for helping during the most difficult time in his life and say, “Kathi & I love you all”.
