Two 17-year-olds were reported playing loud music and drinking alcoholic beverages. Officers discovered that both teenagers were on probation. Both were arrested and later released to their parents.
Assault
12:26 p.m., Sept. 13, Valdez Avenue
A 16-year-old boy broke a door at his home and pushed his mother before disappearing. His mother later found several weapons in her son’s room, including a switchblade, throwing stars, four BB guns and some fireworks. Police confiscated the weapons and fireworks for destruction. The young man was entered into the missing persons system.
Battery
2:10 a.m., Sept. 12, Laurel Avenue
A woman and two witnesses told police that her husband had forced his way into a friend’s apartment and slapped her on the face. He was arrested and taken to jail.
Burglary
6:30 p.m., Sept. 10, Grove Street
A 33-year-old man from Moss Beach was arrested after people spotted him trying to break into a parked vehicle. Police later discovered the man wasn’t committing a burglary – he was actually trying to unlock his wife’s car. However, the man, who was on probation, had an illegal burglary tool and a credit card belonging to another person. He was cited and later released.
10:30 a.m., Sept. 14, Main Street
Someone broke a car window and stole a woman’s purse and other items. Women’s purses, along with multiple other stolen items, were found in a nearby Dumpster.
Disturbance
Sept. 11, Miramontes Street
A 7-year-old Hatch Elementary student brought blank gun rounds to school and gave them to a friend. The blank rounds were discovered by the friend’s parents, who notified the school and police. The student said he found the blank round in his home closet. He was suspended and released to a parent.
Drugs
11:20 p.m., Sept. 9, Highway 1
A 26-year-old driver from Half Moon Bay was arrested after police pulled him over for a broken headlight. The driver was caught with cocaine and was taken to jail.
Sept. 12, Wave Street
Police responded to a report of a homeless encampment and marijuana being grown in an open field. Officers found the homeless camp but no sign of marijuana. Public Works was contacted to remove the encampment.
DUI
1:54 a.m., Sept. 11, Highway 1
A 19-year-old driver from Moss Beach was caught driving while drunk. He was caught with metal knuckles, a potentially dangerous weapon.
8:03 p.m., Sept. 14, Spruce Street
A driver was reportedly tailgating another car and throwing gang signs. Sheriff’s deputies and California Highway Patrol officers found the driver and discovered he was drunk. He was arrested.
Harassment
1:08 p.m., Sept. 11, Church Street
A Cunha Intermediate School student was admonished for sending harassing e-mails to another student.
Hit and run
7:30 a.m., Sept. 8, Spruce Street
A resident reported to police that his neighbor collided into his car. The neighbor denied that accusation, saying he didn't cause the damage. The case is being forwarded to the district attorney's office.
1:45 p.m., Sept. 12, Ruisseau Francais Avenue
A local resident said a driver behind him at a stoplight was honking his horn incessantly as soon as the light turned green. The angry driver then swerved onto the middle of the road and swiped the left side of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect’s car was reportedly a black Ford Excursion.
Missing person
1:27 a.m., Sept. 13, Kelly Avenue
A male teenager was considered missing after he failed to go to a concert he was planning to attend, and later failed to pick up his girlfriend from work. He was entered into the missing persons database.
Public intoxication
3:30 p.m., Sept. 10, Seymour Street
A 60-year-old man was found slumped over the steering wheel of a parked car. Police arrested the man for public intoxication and took him to First Chance.
Theft
2:30 a.m., Sept. 8, Cypress Avenue
An expensive bottle of cologne was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The owner said the cologne was worth $180.
Sept. 9, Metzgar Street
A registration tab was swiped from a car license plate.
6:41 p.m., Sept. 10, Kelly Avenue
A transient was spotted walking into the More For Less gas station store and putting a beer in his pants. The man then ran out of the store without paying. Police later caught the man, who claimed he had taken the beer with him into the store. The case is being forwarded to the district attorney’s office.
Threats
10:30 p.m., Sept. 11, Miramontes Avenue
A woman received a death threat from an unknown woman. The victim was told to keep a log of phone calls and contact her phone company to trace the calls.
Warrant
1:55 a.m., Sept 10, Highway 1
An 18-year-old driver from San Jose was pulled over for speeding, and he gave police a false name and birthday, claiming he didn’t have any identification on him. Officers found out who he was and learned he was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant out of Santa Clara. He was arrested and taken to jail.

A father reported his 42-year-old son was drunk and causing trouble on his property.

5:26 p.m., Sept. 2, Montara State Beach
Several men who were surfing discovered someone had broken into their car.

11:43 p.m., Sept. 7, Sunshine Valley Road
Deputies found a man lying in a ditch on the side of the road. The man told deputies he had been drinking with his friends and was walking home. During the long walk, he decided to lie down and rest. He was arrested and taken to county jail.

Two bicycles were stolen from the side yard of a home.
6:20 p.m., Sept. 2, Etheldore Street
Someone stole a baby stroller locked to a pole at the Moss Beach Park.
