The list closely resembles the line-up set for last year when no contest was called. It includes two big-wave riding Coastsiders: Ion Banner of El Granada and Tim West of Montara.
The organization is upping the ante this season, partially in light of last year’s hyped-up non-event. The contest window opens Nov. 1 – earlier than ever before – and runs through the end of March 2010. And contestants are competing for a $150,000 prize purse – twice the typical bounty.
