Teen throws spray cans, spits at school janitor

Published/Last Modified on Thursday, Jul 23, 2009 - 09:57:27 am PDT

A teenager allegedly spit in the face of a janitor at Cunha Intermediate School after the employee confronted the young man about vandalizing the campus with graffiti. The employee was cleaning up white-supremacist graffiti found on the school campus earlier in the week, and he spotted a young man loitering nearby with two cans of spray paint. The employee began chasing the young man, who threw the cans of spray paint at him. The janitor grabbed the young suspect, who spit at him and then squirmed away. The teenager ran from the campus and was not caught. The suspect is described as 15-year-old, about 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, with black hair and a black long-sleeve shirt and jeans. A police spokesman said the young man probably was not involved with the racist graffiti.
