Donovans lead way to 10-9 softball win

Harlee Donovan went 2-for-3 to lead the Lions.

Abbey Donovan was the winning pitcher. Sydney Halleman caught a fly in the outfield.

Scorpions 5

Cubs 2

Maddie Croke singled for the Cubs.

Shenoa Satterlee drove in a run. Katie Rupert caught a fly and threw to Shelby Hartness at first to complete the double play.

Minis

Coasters 10

Angels 2

Riley Donovan singled twice, and Kaylyn Sterling added a single for the Angels.

Haley Mulderick singled and doubled. Grace Falvey and Sara Dexter both singled. Willow Gelphman backhanded a grounder at shortstop. Lily Burke made three stops at second.

Colts 4

Kittens 3

Carly Bunuan was 2-for-2 with two runs scored for the Colts.

Tehya Hines doubled, drove in a run and scored. Alexis DeMeo and Carly Jones both singled and drove in a run. Kailani Bowers singled and scored. Mailie Bowers singled and scored.

Taylor Duncan singled twice and scored twice for the Kittens. Mia O’Brien had a hit. Brooke Krieger doubled and scored.

June 17

Sparks 0

Lyndsay Klimenko singled and drove in two runs for the Dodgers.

Jade Adams caught three flies in right field and a fourth at third base. Catcher Monica DiMartino threw out a runner at second. Haley Nazar backhanded a grounder at second and threw to first baseman Kelsey Moore for the out. Adams scored, along with Kim Garcia, Heather Garcia, Miranda Reimche and Lauren Irish. Reimche and Klimenko combined on the shutout.

Katie Carlevaris had two hits to pace the Sparks. Laura Acton, Shannon Cosgrave and Jessica Lehane all added hits.

Minors

Cubs 5

Kallista Leonardos was 2-for-2 with two RBIs as the Demons won.

Winning pitcher Megan Cosgrave doubled, scored twice and drove in two runs. McKenna Crofton had a base hit, drove in a run and scored twice. The Demons turned a triple play, with Crofton catching a line drive, throwing to Cosgrave at first for the second out. Cosgrave threw to Adrianna Rosen at second to complete the triple play. Cosgrave struck out five.

Shelby Hartness had three hits to lead the Cubs. Morgan Tomberlin and Maddie Croke each had two hits. Isabel Lehane singled.

Colts 2

Kailani Bowers singled, scored, drove in a run and was on base three times for the Colts.

Mailie Bowers also singled and scored. Alexis DeMeo singled, driving in a run. Tehya Hines and Celeste Hernandez both singled. Carly Jones threw out two runners from second base.

Natalie Myren and Hannah Vaughn each hit run-scoring singles to highlight a seven-run second inning.

Akemi Hamada pitched a shutout inning.

Scorpions 2

Abbey Donovan and Harlee Donovan each went 3-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the Lions.

Morgan Krieger was 2-for-3 with two runs. Amy Francis was 1-for-3 and scored twice.

Ashley O’Keefe doubled and Emma Spaeth and Kaylyn Sterling each singled for the Angels.

Shannon Cosgrave, Megan Cosgrave and Laura Acton each had two hits, including a triple, for the Sparks.

Jessica Lehane went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Chandra Anderson was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Aria Chee doubled and drove in two runs. Emma Francis got a hit and drove in three runs. Izzy Lehane drove in a run. Shannon Cosgrave caught a line drive. Acton made a leaping catch at first. Francis made a shoelace catch in right.

Dodgers 6

Heather Garcia was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI for the Dodgers.

Lyndsay Klimenko was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Haley Nazar was also 1-for-3 with two runs scored. Klimenko struck out six batters. Jade Adams caught a fly. Kelsey Laffen tagged out a runner at home. Miranda Reimche fielded a base hit in center, connected with relay person Nazar who fired a strike to Laffen.

Marina Stewart, McKenna Jones and Stevie Hallgren each doubled for the Bruisers. Kelly Kaine added two hits. Shortstop Kathleen Abadie threw out several runners at first. Catcher Akemi Hamada picked off a runner at second.

Day camp goes to the dogs


Driving down the coast on a foggy Thursday morning, Katheryn Weaver stopped the van to pick up Keena on her way to day camp. With Bailey and Rocky already on board, she continued her trek from Montara to San Gregorio.
