Police release sketch of attacker

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, Jul 01, 2009 - 03:15:50 pm PDT

Half Moon Bay Police released a sketch of a man who allegedly assaulted a 23-year-old woman on the Coastal Trail last week.

The victim was riding her bicycle across a bridge around 8 p.m. on June 22, just north of Francis State Beach in Half Moon Bay, when she encountered the suspect riding a mountain bike. The man reportedly used his bike to block the bridge, preventing the victim from passing. The suspect then grabbed the woman, pulling her off her bicycle.

The woman began yelling, and the man quickly fled.

Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian man between the ages of 40 and 50, about 5’8” tall with thin dark brown hair, a rounded nose and a pale complexion. He was wearing a black T-shirt and khaki shorts.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police at 726-8828.
