Dine for a Difference through July 31
When you dine at Cetrella, 10 percent of your check will be donated to one of eight Coastside charities. Beneficiaries include Boys and Girls Club of the Coastside, Senior Coastsiders, Cabrillo Education Fund, Coastiside Child Development Center, Coastside Hope, Coastside Childrens' Programs, Seton Medical Center Coastside and Sonrisas Community Dental Clinic.
Complete Emergency Contact Card
Information is being collected for disaster preparedness planning and will allow you to be contacted in the event of an emergency. Forms are available at Senior Coastsiders for all people 60 years and up.
Volunteer with Senior Coastsiders
Consider branching out by volunteering with Senior Coastsiders this spring. There are a variety of opportunities including working in the kitchen, thrift store, delivering Meals on Wheels, helping out with special events, class instruction, or a variety of direct service opportunities. HICAP counseling on coast
Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program offers no-cost counseling by appointment only to seniors on the first and third Fridays of each month. A state-registered HICAP counselor will be available to answer questions about Medicare eligibility, benefits, supplements, health maintenance organizations, billing problems and long term care insurance issues.

Get Wise and Well
Basic health screenings are available through the Wise and Well program at Senior Coastsiders.
The program will offer a free drop-in health screening for seniors 60 and older. The clinic will be from 9:30 to 11a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. The next date is June 16.
The health screening including blood pressure, fasting blood glucose and consultation with a nurse. This is a drop-in clinic with no appointment. However, cholesterol screening does require an appointment.
Police can help with old medicine
Half Moon Bay Police Chief Don O'Keefe advises that his department will accept old and unused pharmaceutical drugs at the police station from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Free Legal aid for people 60 and over
The Legal Aid Society of San Mateo offers free legal aid to residents of San Mateo County age 60 and over. Senior Advocates helps people with questions about Social Security, Supplemental Security Income Medi-Cal, Food Stamps, Advance Health Directives, elder abuse, landlord/tenant problems and disability rights along with other issues.
