January 3, 1922-June 1, 2009

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, Jun 10, 2009 - 11:27:55 am PDT

Born January 3, 1922 in Pescadero, CA., passed away peacefully June 1, 2009 at Mills-Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame with her family at her side. Mary was the loving and devoted wife of Giuseppe

Giannini for a few months short of 68 years. She adored her family and was very devoted, caring and giving to her daughters, Martha (Dominic) Muzzi of Moss Landing, Julia (Robert) Marsh of Half Moon Bay and Georgia Giannini of Pescadero.

As a grandmother and great-grandmother, she glowed with pride and joy when sharing time with them. She was Nonna to Dominic J. (Casey) Muzzi of Moss Landing, Lisa (Kenneth) Muzzi-Christensen of Watsonville, Deborah (Jason) Cozzolino-Silva and Robert Marsh, Jr. of Half Moon Bay, and Great

Grand Nonna to Aundrea and Johnny Cozzolino.

Along with her great love for her family, her second love was cooking. She looked forward to her great

Italian dinners, pastas and gnocchi in particular, with and for her family and was an avid dessert specialist.

Mary also donated her time to the Native Daughters of the Golden West spaghetti dinners.

She also enjoyed her trips to San Francisco with her lady friends to attend plays. In 1938 she was queen of the Portuguese Holy Ghost Celebration in Pescadero. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Julia and Joe Neves.

A Vigil and Mass was held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Our Lady of the Pillar

Church, 400 Church Street in

Half Moon Bay.
