Teen accused of harassing classmate who reported crime

Published/Last Modified on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 - 11:14:06 am PDT

A teenage girl and a group of her friends last week allegedly began harassing and intimidating a younger classmate who had reported the girl for stealing multiple iPods at Half Moon Bay High School. The 14-year-old victim had earlier told police that the girl had stolen at least two iPods from other high school students — one from a classmate’s backpack, and another from a gym locker. The father of the victim told police last Friday that his daughter was being followed during the school lunch break and was being taunted by the other girl, who was calling her a “snitch” and other names. Police found the suspect with three teenage girls and a boy surrounding the scared victim at the McDonald’s at Strawflower Village. The 15-year-old suspect was arrested for the thefts and for intimidating a crime witness and was taken to Hillcrest Juvenile Detention Facility.
