Locals win horseshoe tournaments

Foa Remillong of the Half Moon Bay Horseshoes Club took top honors at the Memorial Open, held at Smith Field on May 16.

Remillong won Group 1 with Terry Farrell, also of the Half Moon Bay club, second. Ed Moore of the San Jose Eagles Club won Group 2 with Half Moon Bay club member Glen O’Brien second.

Nine days earlier, Half Moon Bay club members went 1-2 in Group 2 at the Pat McGowan Tournament.

Ron Grenier won with O’Brien placing second. Club member Ron Nelson won Group 3 with Charlie Kerr of the San Jose Eagles Club second.

Leon Moore of the San Jose Eagles Club won Group 1 with Terry Farrell of the Half Moon Bay club second.
