Nelson second in gymnastics meet

Lacey Nelson finished second in the all-around competition at the North Santa Clara Valley Athletic League gymnastics finals, held May 13.

Her finish helped Half Moon Bay High School finish third in the team competition.

Nelson finished second in bars and beam, and sixth in floor and vault.

Brigette Perreault was third in the all-around competition.

She was fourth on bars, beam and floor, and seventh on vault.

Anita Oettel-Flaherty was eighth in all-around, taking seventh on beam and ninth on bars.

Kayla Strom of Montara, who attends Mercy High School-Burlingame, was fourth in all-around. She won the bars, was second on vault and third on floor.

The Cougars participate in the Central Coast Section meet Thursday in Mountain View.

Beautification committee awards grants
