Former Half Moon Bay Review reporter, Tom Peterson passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning Jan 26 in Midland, Texas. Services were held on Jan. 30 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with the Rev. Russell Nebhut and the Rev. Mark Cannaday, officiating.

Thomas Rousseau Peterson was born in Santa Monica, California on Nov. 29, 1953, the son of William and Mary Thomas Peterson.

After graduating from high school, Tom attended Palomar Junior College and then San Jose State where he graduated with a degree in journalism. Upon graduation from college, he went to work for the Half Moon Bay Review. Tom was a reporter for the Half Moon Bay Review from 1976-1984

Tom married Margaret Temple, (sister of Sally Coverdell and Jane Mauss), on August 24, 1985.

Career opportunities moved Tom and Margaret to Ithaca, New York and later to Austin, San Antonio, and finally Midland, Texas.

In Midland, Peterson and his family became involved in community events as well as in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scout organizations. Tom is survived by his wife Margaret Peterson of Midland; son Paul Peterson, of Midland; daughter Mary Margaret Peterson, of Midland; mother, Mary Thomas Peterson; brother Richard Peterson, of La Crescenta, Calif.; and sister Maura Peterson, of Miami, Fla.
