Carol Ann Jennings, 52, passed gently from us on March 8, 2009 in Sonoma, California after a brief illness. Her devoted husband of 23 years, Corey, and her father were at her side. She was born on October 14, 1956 in Elmhurst, Illinois and was the daughter of Joseph and June Vercellotti of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Carol attended Ohio State University and spent many years in the travel industry in Cleveland, Boston and San Francisco, traveling to many exotic places herself. She met her husband in Half Moon Bay, CA which was one of her most favorite places on earth. While in California she worked in Market Research for the Nestle Corporation and A.C. Nielsen Company. She also volunteered for the Sonoma county Red Cross, Home Alone Visitation and Sonoma Valley Hospital. As an avid reader and writer she endorsed and promoted literacy for children. She is survived by her husband, Corey Jennings; by her parents Joseph and June Vercellotti; by her three brothers and three sisters; Mary (Bob) Richardson of Denver Colorado; Helen Vercellotti of Bluffton, South Carolina; Michael (Nancy) Vercellotti of Andover, New Hampshire; Susan Vercellotti of Windsor, Ohio; Peter (and friend Michele) Vercellotti of Portland, Oregon; and Thomas (Linda) Vercellotti of Lisle, Illinois; two nieces, Anna and Lea; two nephews; Sooki and Matthew; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins, and her beloved cat, Peabody. Memorial Services are pending for a later date. The family requests that memorial donation be made in her name to the Reading Is Fundamental, Inc., Donations Processing, Suite #400, 1825 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20009-5726 or visit their website at www.rif org and go to the donations page; or to St. Francis Educational Memorial Fund, St. Francis Solano School, 342 West Napa Street, Sonoma, CA 95476.
